A RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL IN SRI LANKA🙏🙏

           🙏🙏 A Religious Festival is Sri Lanka🙏🙏



Vesak is the most important Festival in our country. Vesak falls during the month of May. This day is very important to Buddhists. The birth, enlightenment and the parinibbana of Lord Buddha occurred on Vesak poya day. Buddhists go to temple and observe sil. they listen to Bana sermons and make offerings at the shrine.




People celebrate this occasion by lighting lanterns and oil lamps in he night. There are free food centres called "Dan sal". People enjoy the food given in these places. Sometimes there are pandals in public places. Buddhists engage themselves in religious activities during the vesak season.
